Registration information

We’re excited for the 2024 season and expect spots to fill quickly, so don’t wait to register! 

Things to know BEFORE you register:

• Submitting the registration form does not guarantee league participation — it means that you will be entered into the annual league draft if you registered before the season’s capacity limit has been met. Anyone who submits the registration form after the season’s capacity limit has been met or after the registration deadline will be waitlisted and contacted if any spots open up.

• Level of play: The WBGBL offers one level of play for new and returning players. The league consists of many experienced and intermediate players who have a firm grasp on the fundamentals of basketball and are able to compete at varying levels of skill beyond novice, ranging from former collegiate or high school athletes to the occasional pick up player. Through one level of play, players engage in a competitive and constructive environment geared toward team camaraderie and success.

• League dues: The cost to play is $190.00. You will be invoiced after your registration has been confirmed (i.e. you registered in time and within the season’s capacity limit). Your dues include eleven guaranteed games (and the opportunity for additional games through playoffs), and pay for gym time, referees, a jersey, insurance, processing fees, and socials during the season. 

• Player Assistance Program: Limited financial assistance to participate in the league is available - please indicate your interest in financial assistance via the registration form.

• Location: Our games are held at Emmanuel College’s Jean Yawkey Center (400 The Fenway, Boston). 

• New to the WBGBL? If you are new to the league and your registration is confirmed, you will be asked to attend New Registration Runs – an event to meet the league’s leadership team, captains, and each other, as well as get some runs in before the season starts. This event will take place on Saturday, December 2 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Emmanuel College’s Jean Yawkey Center (400 The Fenway, Boston). You will receive more details about New Registration Runs after registration for the 2024 season has closed. Can’t make it? No worries - you can still get on a team if your registration was confirmed.

• Attendance: Please only register if you are committed to attending the majority of games as team’s depend on players showing up each week to have enough players to play. If you can’t make a game, you are expected to communicate this to your captain ahead of time.

• 2024 Schedule: We play on Sunday afternoons from January to April. See below for the 2024 game schedule.
